The coffee shop vibe

If you’re anything like me, part of your trip to the coffee shop is about the vibe you get while you’re there. On a daily basis I can decide from about a dozen different coffee shops that I could go to. Oddly enough, the decision usually isn’t too difficult and I end up picking the perfect place on their respective perfect days.

The coffee shop that I choose to go to entirely depends on my mood that day. If I’m feeling upbeat and studious, I’ll pick one place over the others. If I’m feeling sad or slow, I’ll pick a coffee shop with an upbeat vibe to pick me up and get me going. If I’m in the mood to relax and be semi-productive, I’ll pick a shop with mid-range lighting and light-hearted music, a shop that’s probably busier than the others.

Anyway, you get my point and how my moods depend on where I’m headed to get my cup of joe. Every shop has a different vibe and they can all help boost your mood or support the way you’re currently feeling.

Some people like a relaxed and quiet environment with warm or pastel tones whereas others may enjoy a place that has a grungy and hipster energy. Coffee shops also vary from modernized to hole-in-the-wall places. Personally, I’ll obviously always go local over corporate and tend to sway towards the places that give me a more relaxed, open and diverse vibe. I like drinking my coffee where the mood is always upbeat, relaxed and welcoming.

The next time you go to a coffee shop, think about why you decide to pick up your coffee from that shop on that day. Was it because of your mood or was it because of a drink special they were having? I would love to hear if your mood affects your daily coffee routine!
